Until only a few years back, I didn’t rate beef steaks. I was fine with minced meat, which I considered a more flavoursome filler than chicken. But my childhood memories of steaks involved me chewing it until it was a hard ball that was impossible to swallow. Only recently have my eyes been opened to the beauty of a well made steak. Buying tips for beef
For mince, these recipes assume a 5% fat or less variant. For steaks, buy ones with no fat on the outside, but a good amount of marbling (fat throughout the meat itself). This marbling will help keep the meat moist as it cooks. As the fat itself melts, little will end up in your meal, so it stays diet friendly.
